Ann Rolfe, who has appeared at Court times out of number, was again charged with being in Lombard Street between 12 and 1 o‘clock this morning, using bad language. She pleaded guilty. Mr Casher - I hardly know what to do with you; you have been here repeatedly; I shall give you a light punishment, and I hope you will mend your ways; you are convicted, and sentenced to be imprisoned and kept at hard labour for 14 days

King George’s Gate - Another name for the Quay Gate, which was situated at the end of Lombard Street, facing the Camber. It was erected in 1734.
